An award-winning designer and strategist, Tim has always wanted to push against the labels given to him. Over the course of his career he has designed brands, products and experiences across multiple categories ranging from retail and hospitality to financial services and NBA superstars. The list of clients he has worked with is enviable but he's already looking for a new challenge to take on.

Currently exploring new opportunities to practice his craft.

Most recently he was the Head of Design for Sallie Mae, the largest private student lender in the United States, where he drove the strategy and execution for all digital products and experiences. In his time there, two new products–Scholarship and College Search engines–launched that leveraged the new design system he implemented. Additional work included an overhaul of the loan management platform and mobile application and several optimization efforts. He and his team successfully improved performance by no less than 7% on any project.

Prior to that, he led product design at WordStream before and after its acquisition by Gannett, the largest news publisher in the United States. While there, he helped lead the team through a transformation from a startup with one product to a mature B2B organization with shared services and support while also introducing AI offerings and achieving record retention rates.

Before going ‘clientside’, he spent many years in agencies, last working at Allen & Gerritsen as the VP, Group Director of Experience Design, where he ran several large clients in both the Boston and Philadelphia offices and oversaws the teams responsible for the experience design, content strategy and creative technology. If someone doesn't fit nicely into any one area and is a bit of a unicorn, they were on his team.

Previous to that, he was a key member of SapientNitro's omnichannel retail practice–responsible for driving user experience and design for an international team of collaborators–in addition to being involved in the Boston office's portfolio, directly overseeing Dunkin' Donuts and Citizens Bank.

Although he's more likely to be found running up the mountains of the northeast, he is an active contributor to the industry and has spoken at several major conferences, is a member of the adjunct faculty for the Ad Club, Boston's trade association, and frequently guest lectures at Boston universities on topics regarding experience design, cognitive bias and innovation.
